The Chau dancers of Purulia organize a village festival named Chau-Jhumur Utsav in Purulia. An open stage is designed for the performance around which the audience gathered to see the shows. More than 30 Chau groups usually perform in the festival. Apart from local audience many people from Kolkata and other nearby cities attend the festival. Visit the mask makers’ village Charida to experience the Chau mask making by the artists. Visit Purulia and experience the vibrant Chau dance. This year Chau Jhumur Festival was held at Bamnia, Jhalda II, Purulia on 28 – 30 March 2023.

The tourists visited the village and interacted with the artists working in their own courtyards. The entire village was decorated and had a colourful ambience. Huge audiences gathered every day. Tourists visiting Purulia visited the village. The campaign had an enormous response.
